Searching my BDB lexicon for Hebrew words

I have no clue how to search (or even type in) hebrew words in my lexicon. Can someone help?

I am not sure exactly what you are looking for, but I will give it a shot.
The first screen shot shows what happens when you control - click on a word in a Reverse Interlinear Bible (such as the ESV). Notice on the left hand side, there is link to the BDB. By clicking on that, BDB will be opened to the Hebrew Lemma (as shown in the second screen shot). The third screen shot shows the Table of Contents opened, which allows you to search through the BDB like you would a dictionary. If you want to search using Hebrew characters, you will need a program to assist you. Logos has a free one, unfortunately it is Windows only. There are (non-logos) websites you can use as well.

Kenneth - (welcome to the forums, by the way)
I forgot to tell you how to open the TOC... Click on the book cover, and a drop down box (seen below) will appear. Click on "Show Table Of Contents."

This helped a lot, but unfortunately, my fears were confirmed. I am taking Intermediate Hebrew, and need to be able to look up the lexical root of the hebrew word in my homework. Am I right that in order to do that I need to go outside of Logos?

You just need to install a Unicode Hebrew keyboard (software that lets you type in Hebrew). The Mac OS includes such an animal (I'm not a Mac guy, so maybe someone else can help with installation instructions, or just search your computer's documentation or the web). SBL also has one here: http://www.sbl-site.org/educational/BiblicalFonts_SBLHebrew.aspx
Then you can type Hebrew into the navigation box of the lexicon (to select from the lexicon's headwords), or run a search, depending what you're looking for.

Now that's what I have been looking for! Bless you.
