I'm happy with the Personal Book builder when it comes to footnotes. But now I'm trying to make a book that has endnotes. Each article in this book marks a new section. So endnote numbers restart at 1 for each article (like chapter endnotes). Anyway my docx file works fine: the numbers get reused for each section. But when it compiles in Logos, there are problems:
Sometimes it will ignore section breaks, so that the first foot/endnote of the next article begins where the last one left off. (note that the docx file does NOT do this). Also, sometimes right in the middle of an article, the endnotes start at one again. It seems random as to when it occurs, but the restarting at one only occurs after another paragraph in the article.
My work arounds go like this: I make two section breaks between articles: one new-page section break and one continuous section break. That helps reset number counts at 1 for the new article. Also in the middle of an article when logos acts as tho there is a section break, I change the paragraph from a hard enter to a soft-enter (shift-enter) so that logos doesn't see a break when there isn't one.
Also, in MSWord, when you make a special character endnote or footnote symbol, logos shows it but then counts it as a number. If you compile the attached docx notice how it works with article 36.
For the main end note problems look at articles 11-12, 17-18.3377.3FU(2).docx
