I don't have wifi at home, so have downloaded Bibles and commentaries I want for Bible study. It does nicely for studying with commentary/ies. Any tghing more sophisticated I do on computer. Vyrso is useful for reading Logos books. For both Logos app and Vyrso, I find it useful tohave a cup of coffee at hand, as they decide to shut down when they feel like it, so a swig of coffee, or water, passes the time till they reopen.

I can not open books from my library

Do you mean that the resource is unavailable on your iPad, or that it won't open? Do you know how to "kill" an app? [Outside of the app, press and hold the center button. Icons for the apps will appear at the bottom with a minus sign. Clicking on the minus will turn the app off. Sometimes it is good to do this will all your apps anyway.]

Apps on iOS devices are almost "always on," or at least in a state of hibernation. I am sure that there is an official term for "killing" an app, but that is what I call it. One thing that "killing" the Logos App does is force it to resync with the servers. It does not delete it or the library. If you DELETE the app from the iPad, you will lose your library.

Press and hold the central button. What button? Do you mean the button that closes the apps and wakes the iPad out of sleep? I pressed and held that and nothing happened. (iPad 1). Maybe it does need to be online? Or have I got the wrong button?

I didn't have my iPad with me when I wrote that. You "double click" the center button. When the app slider appears, press and hold on an app icon.

I still do not have answer. Are all of you out there, being able to use your Logos library with an I Pad 2, or am I alone with total frustration?

Is the problem with the app, or is it something else?

By the way, my I phone 4 works very well with Logos.

Does Logos have a solution? I would like to start reading more on the I Pad.

I use the app and do not have problems with using the functionality it currently has. Other than "killing" the app, you can try deleting it and re-installing it. Also, is there a particular book that continually crashes?

Right now, when I try to open Logos on my I Pad, it either attempts without success to open a book. Sometimes, it opens my bible, but not consistently.

Many times, it just immediately crashes and disappears.

Yes, I have closed the app (kill as you say), deleted, and reinstalled, but none seems to help.

I have signed into Logos, and my library appears as available.

Shmuel, I am using both iPhone 4 and iPad 2. I haven't found any differencies in the function of Logos on those two. The problems you have look to be specific to your iPad. Are all other applications work properly? Is Vyrso (Logos ebook reader) working properly or having the same problems as your Logos?

Kindle works fine. Vyrso worked for a book that I bought, but I also have trouble accessing my library with Vyrso.

It seams to me that it might be a problem with your wifi (or the alternative) Internet connection. Do you have the same problems while using downloaded books?

Apparently at certain locations in my house...and where I want to read...the WiFi connection is weaker and did not enable me to utilize my library.

But I notice with Abraham, who encourages me because his faith, like mine, was often terribly wobbly, that he's referred to in the Bible as man of faith, not because he didn't wobble, but because he got there in the end! And your instructions worked out in the end and enabled me to do the job!

incidentally I have complained before that I can't download certain books on Vyrso, possibly also on Logos app. Yesterday I thought I would go to church and do internet. God had different plans for me, so I found the church locked, a very rare phenomenon. So I went to pay a social visit to the pastor and his wife. After being fed with melon and ice cream, I decided they had other things to do than entertain me all afternoon - they always make me very welcome, and I'd like to keep it that way! As I was about to take my leave, I mentioned that visiting them had been a bonus as God had not seen eye to eye with me about my original plan to do internet at church. So they invited me to do it in their house. The point of this long excursus is that their internet is faster than the church internet, and lo! I have now downloaded many of the books I couldn't download at church!

I am glad you found the problem. My experience is (that was why I
asked you about the connection in my previous post) that Logos works
well on a good wifi connection, or off-line, without any connection. When
it should have a connection and it doesn't work well, it makes Logos to
have problems, which is understandable.
