just bought

I just bought the platinum version yesterday. I expected something special. When I opened it today I have a blank screen. And then when I started trying to use it, it went into indexing mode again, after having done that all night last night. Then it froze. I had to do a hard shut down. So far, I am underwhelmed, to say the least.

Where's the beef? Where's the bells and whistles? Where are all the tools that are supposed to be in the tool box?

I am a senior pastor who has no time to play at writing software. So far, I am feeling like I was sold a mansion in the Hamptons. I show up expecting to be handed the keys to a beautiful home, and instead I am handed a hammer and one board,

How long am I going to have to wait for the real deal?

If you downloaded Logos 4 for Mac, it is an alpha-version (read: not fully functioning). Automatic updates over the next few months will bring the product to where it needs to be.

As for indexing -- I have about 1,900 resources --- it took about 30 hours or so...If you're computer goes to sleep, it stops indexing. Download "Caffeine" from Apple.com -- turn it on to run indefinitely. It will keep your computer from going to sleep. You should be done indexing in a day or two.

Logos 4 will run slow during indexing (or not at all). After indexing is done, you will be able to see and use all (almost all) your resources. The program is still a work in process. Hopefully you have v.1.2.2 and can still function while the bugs are worked out of Logos 4.

now see, this is a shame. this poor guy bought a very expensive piece of software assuming it to be version 4. the mac Bible software site points directly to version 4, so why would he assume anything else? that is just wrong.

Fair enough Bob. You know I agree and I have posted that on another thread. I hve also emailed Logos directly to ask for some input.

But just because your complaint is legitimate, does not mean you HAVE it on every single Mac thread. I can't fix the past, but I am just asking you to please let me try and help Steve and focus on his question rather than your complaint. Is that really too much to ask brother?
