Doctrins of the Bible by Daniel Kauffman - Herald Press
As stated before this rather old book is very much still used in Mennonite groups. I myself was gien a copy from my then "Mennonite Instructor" (an average brother in the church who wanted me to discover for myself the Mennonite values). I have since learned it is given to young men who about to be married or as wedding gifts to newlyweds.
A very good book explaining the "Works of Faith" used by the Mennonites which set them apart from the world.. NOT WORKS FOR SALVATION!!! That is God given through the Grace of the Cross. This sets apart the Mennonite from the Amish who instead of doctrins which should be followed to prevent worldly ties but doctrins not necessarily demanded, were the Amish have Church Rules which if not followed, will lead you to the worldly ways and hell. These rules in the Amish (Ordnung) are Works above Grace which the Amish have lost reasoning for because of tradition and the German Language Bible which is only to be read by the preachers during church. Pennsilvania Dutch is not High German and most Amish can not read nor completely understand High German, but the German Bible is now tradition also.
Anyways read this book and enjoy... Pray LOGOS will add it. [:)]
