BUG? Justification lost in PBB

On several projects I have worked on, the ability to have text "justified" (not in the Pauline sense) has been iffy at best. The first screen shot below shows a sample word document. The second, shows the resulting PB. Any thoughts?

Displaying text in resources as justified or non-justified was recently added to Program Settings.

However, 'Justify Resource Text' is set on by default, so if you have not changed that setting then what you are seeing should be justified. On the other hand, if you have turned the setting off then what you are seeing is correct.

Either way, the setting is a global setting within Logos and is not affected (or is not meant to be affected) by the settings in the source docx file.

Thanks for your response, MG, but the global settings are not the issue. This is definitely an issue with the .docx file. Download it and try it for yourself. [:)]

Yes, I see your problem. Switching 'Justify Resource Text' on and off makes a small difference, but never properly justifies the text.

I noticed you are using a mixture of fonts so as an experiment, I selected all text, and changed it to Times New Roman, and unjustified the text. When I compile a PB from this docx then the text behaves properly, with justification switching on and off according to global settings.

I then made another PB, from the same Times New Roman docx but this time with the text justified. It too behaved as expected with justification being shown according to global settings, not docx settings.

Given the mixture of fonts (Calibri, Cambria and Arial), I tried various experiments to change some or all of these. Changing everything to Arial almost seemed to work, just one line, when justified, was slightly off. Changing everything to Calibri seemed to work OK.

It therefore appears that problems may arise when using a mixture of fonts (your original, for example, had most of the body text in Arial, but the carriage returns between paragraphs were in Cambria). There may also be a problem with some fonts, in this experiment Arial seems suspect in achieving full justification.

But using Times New Roman for the docx and then changing the default font in Logos program settings always seems to work OK.

I will try to work with changing the fonts. The original .docx file has just one font (Helvetica). The .docx file that you downloaded was after I adjusted the styles to "stock" ones.
