In most of my layouts, I have a small area dedicated to the Information tool. It is set to update upon click, and the speed is fine for that purpose.
My concern is that it does not do a particularly good job and yet I cannot see any reason why it should not be able to do better since the functionality that I am expecting is already in different parts of L4.
Some of the issues include:
- Not using the available space for the text, even when there is nothing else to display (other windows re-paginate themselves appropiately). See below.
- Not linking to the original resource (In the example below, clicking on the text, or the blue 'NDB' does not open that resource. This means that I cannot easily see the entire article. Most of the rest of logos links nicely.)
- I often see results that say 'xxx. see yyy'. (Not very useful in a quick reference tool! I would have though that something as simple as a word count could force the info tool to skip that hit.)
- I have my priorities set reasonably well (they suit me!) but there are always cases where one particular resource does not give quite what I need ... but I do not seem to be able to force the information window to continue looking down my priority list. A simple button to go to the next resource would be nice; not nescesarily the full parallel resource options, just a 'keep on looking button'.

I have just looked at exactly the same thing in the Windows version, and the NBD link is live (so point 2 above must be a Mac Bug?) but the remainder still seems to hold true.

Are my expectations of this tool wrong? I want a 1-click lookup that arrives with relevant information quickly (not a cross-reference), with the option that at an additional click, more information is available, whether the whole article or the next resource.
Is there a tool that I am forgetting, such as 'explorer' or similar, that meets my needs? It seems pretty basic to the functionality of the software when compared to the resources being put into developing book builder (ducks for cover!). That is why I am wondering of it is my expectations that are at fault.
Thanks.
BTW. with reference to the non-active NDB click, the little 'hand' appears but does not have any effect. I am using Logos Bible Software 4.3 (4.30.0.1517) (Update Channel: beta).
