Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs
Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs - David Bercoit - Scroll Publishing
What did the early Christians believe about gifts of the Spirit? Or footwashing? Or the rapture? What about the beast of Revelation or the antichrist? What did they believe the number 666 represented? What were their understandings of the major Christian doctrines, such as the Trinity, salvation, baptism, communion, and life after death? This scholarly work collects together over 7000 quotations from the writings of the early Christians, arranged alphabetically by topic. More than 700 theological, moral, ecclesiastical, and historical topics are covered. It offers the user a unique window into the early Christian world. A must for every pastor and serious Bible student. 704 pp.
I have owned this book for over ten years. Very useful, especially in Seminary. This edition is an update to my edition wo I would love to see it in LOGOS so I do not have to buy another Hard Copy.
God Bless Fred

Fred,
You have suggested enough to keep Logos busy for a considerable time. Don't you think it's time to slow down a bit? It's been like a machine gun -- just one (or even half a dozen) after another.

Getting old George, just wanting to get them in before I kick the bucket.... LOL
I kicked the bucket the other day. I came around a corner and someone had left one sitting there. [;)]

Fred, we can take Rosie's advice here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/11142/282830.aspx#282830
More Anabaptists (or others with interest)
need to request such resources before it will tip over some point where
Logos finally wakes up and says "yeah, there are a significant enough
group of people who would want these resources for us to put the time
into it." The same person asking over and over again probably doesn't
help, unfortunately. I've gotta hand it to you for your persistence,
though.
I've liked most of your suggestions so far! [:D]

I checked this out on Amazon and it does look very good.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
This has been suggested before:

It did not seem to get much traction then; I hope it does better now.

Very strong second (or third, or wherever I fall). I find this book very helpful in catching quotations form the Church Fathers that contain the concept, but not always the words that I would use in searches. Excellent resource, and it would be very handy to be able to click on a link to read the full citation.

Has anyone tried contacting Scroll about this one? I will, if no-one comes forward, though I think someone with a good relationship with them would be better to approach them. This work would be very valuable on Logos, as it would allow instant checking of the sources in context, and would also be suitable for cutting and pasting quotations to be used for apologetic purposes in dialog with other Christians on issues pertaining to the early church (i.e. Catholic-Protestant discussion).
