Hi Terry, Sorry, the sync feature for Personal Books on iPad is not available yet. We are hoping it comes soon.

First, welcome to the forums!
As was previously stated, the compiled books themselves do not currently sync between computers. There are several workarounds. Essentially what you need is to have the .docx file on both computers so that you can compile them in both places. I have created a tutorial using a third party software program called DropBox. This allows you to store the document in a place that will always be accessible to you on any computer you own. You can read that tutorial by clicking HERE.

I was glad to see PBB arrive recently. i expect we need to give Logos some room to get the finer bits working. I'm just happy to be able to have them.
My laptop is organized differently to my desktop so if I understand you all correctly, a (re)build using the laptop will fail. Short of reorganizing the laptop, is there anything I can do to get my personal books to the laptop? I would have thought copying the final file(s) from desktop to laptop would work but the implication, as I read it, is that the docx files are synced and then the books recreated.
I would not be particularly concerned if the laptop PBs were a little behind now and then anyway. I wouldn't see copying a file or two every now and then as a big deal. Do we know where the PBs live?
This also implies that I cannot have personal books on android (yet)?

First, welcome to the forums!
Currently, Personal Books metadata is synced, but the actual books are not. There are various ways to overcome this, but my preferred method is by using dropbox. You can read more about this method HERE. In this system, it is easy to create a new folder on several macs. The files are automatically updated anytime they are changed on any computer. To update the file in Logos, you just recompile the book. If you set up dropbox properly, you do not ever need to hunt for .docx files because Logos will always know where they are.
Currently, Personal Books are not available on mobile devices. I am guessing that when this feature becomes available, we will no longer need to worry about having the .docx files on all machines. This, however, may be a while.

Thanks for the welcome and the help. I appreciate it, particularly in the light of the fact that I made a mess of my first post. And I was trying so hard not to ask questions that had already been answered.
I must apologize. I have posted in the wrong forum. I do not have a Mac. I searched the forums looking to see if my issue had been solved and the only answer close was this thread so I put fingers on keyboard without noticing the forum name. Sorry.
I had just returned home from Bible study where I had tried to access a PB on the laptop only to be told "you don't have a licence for this book". Whoa! I created this book and I don't have a licence?? How embarrasment!! (Australian slang expression) I rushed home to figure it out. I read your posts and the dropbox HowTo an thence to print.
However, I presume that my problem remains even under Windows. The metadata would contain docx locations, locations which my laptop does not have because hard disks are partitioned differently etc. That's why I just wanted to copy the finished product.
I do have a product I paid for which will backup/sync paired folders between USB drives, other computers, USB external hard drives, NAS etc. I love it. I just plug in a USB stick and it does the sync in the background. It seems it would be ideal if I have to move the docx files to a newly created location on the desktop and create a matching location on the notebook. (I assume Logos 4 would be happy moving the docx files.) Dropbox and Live Mesh also sound good but I am still a little wary of cloud storage.
I didn't really expect Personal Books on android for a while, after all it's still in beta. There must be many other features ahead of that in the queue.
Thanks again for the help.

Thankful Logos 4 allows Personal Book (PB) to be built in one installation, sync PB metadata information (title, author, etc) to Logos servers, and copy *.lbspbb file(s). On other Logos 4 installations (Mac and PC), can sync to update PB metadata, then use scan command so Logos 4 copies *.lbspbb file(s) and indexes them.
Looking forward to future Logos sync framework copying PB contents, including mobile app use.

The nice thing about this is I have figure out how to put most of my kindle/ibooks into Logos now. I rip them with a free software took called Calibre into rtf and then open and save with DOCX. I tried it with Randy Alcorns books Heaven and it was perfect. Kept headers and chapter and everything. Awesome!

It's working fine now. Thanks.
Here's what I did.
I copied the *.lbspbb from Resources folder to a USB stick.
Insert stick in laptop and note that its drive letter is F.
Open Logos 4.
In command box type Scan F:\ (nothing appeared to happen)
Open Personal Books
Select a PB, Open. There it is. Working. Here's what I intend to do - please advise if you see any drawbacks to it.
Create a network share,
Use my sync program to copy/update all *.lbspbb between desktop's Resources folder and the share
Use my sync program to copy/update all *.lbspbb between laptop's Resources folder and the share
(This should allow me to create books on the laptop too and have them show up in the desktop)I expect this strategy is easily modified to use DropBox or Live Mesh instead of a network share,
Would the indexing be taken care of automatically or would it be necessary to scan after a book has been rebuilt?
Thanks again.

Suspect need to scan wherever did not build book since scan copies updated resource file(s) and indexes them. Building a book creates lbspbb file and indexes.

Welcome [:D]
Thanks for sharing tip; however, appears using Kindle content in Logos is a violation of Amazon's Kindle License agreement => http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_left_sib?ie=UTF8&nodeId=200506200 since Logos is not a reading application provided by Amazon for reading Kindle digital content.
Wonder if recently looked at http://vyrso.com/ noticed Randy Alcorn's "50 Days of Heaven" available for $ 12.99
