Suggestions -- Page Flip Animation and Menu Open Change for Android Beta

I have two Android devices with both Logos and NOOK apps.  I love the page flip animation in the NOOK app.  I'd like to see something similar implemented in Logos because iit makes reading so much more book-like and comfortable for me.

Secondly, I've seen no other comments about the subject of my next suggestion -- maybe, it's just me.  When I try to tap Scripture references or footnotes near the top or bottom of a page, more often than not, the top and bottom menus open instead.  I think this problem could perhaps be addressed by using the "Menu" button to open the menus instead of tapping the screen.

Other than this, I'm really enjoying Android Beta!    ">

Blessings,

Wynn Raymond

I tend to switch pages with the footnote near the L or R border, when I like to swipe for next page!

I do this all the time, too.  My work-around is to turn the device to the other orientation (portrait to landscape or vice versa) and hope that the reference moves to a spot where I can get it!

Turning from portrait to landscape sometimes works for me too, but when I do that, the pagination often changes and I have to flick forward or back to get to my original line of text.  Since the menus already are accessible via the menu button, the simplest solution to me would be to just disable menu opening via screen tap.  Android Beta has lots of great features, but the problem is, there are too many of them for the amount of screen real estate, especially on a cell phone, and particularly if the user has big fingers like mine.

I agree. It avoids the other, less frequent, pitfall that I get something else (page switch or note popup) when I tap for the Menu!

I love the dynamic page flipping animation too, so I often make page-flip ebooks via turning page software. I noticed that the app can also output page-flipping files for working on Android devices, it might help you at this point.

I appreciate the tip, Sunny.  I checked out the web site via your link.  Interesting software package but it is a bit pricey and requires publishing starting from PDF format so it won't work for L4 books.

    Many thanks anyway.

just my .02, i would rather a faster page turn than an animation.  if we can't have both, maybe an option in setting to turn it off?
