I have had a bid in for the Works of John Gill since November. It seems to be going nowhere. Please consider placing a bid. Dr. Gill was one of the best Biblical scholars of his day.

Soli Deo Gloria,

I, too am eager for this one. I might try to find some of his material elsewhere for some PBs in the interim, but I will still wait for the Logos product, as I am certain theirs will be more usable.
I've been using Gill's exposition in Libronix via PBB for several years and find it quite suitable. If not as a L4 PB in the future, it is free in other Bible software. The word "free" is the operable one. [:D]
part of the problem may be that our "peak" where everyone ineterested has jumped in is too low. I've upped my bid from $40 to $50
The word "free" is the operable one.
Good point; one that I'm constantly weighing. My comment was mainly on my lack of time / ability to make a properly coded .docx. If I am unable to quickly and accurately mark-up a source using Word's find-and-replace, I'll either deem it acceptable enough as is (I'm not a professional user of Logos), or I'll wait for an economical alternative (like community pricing). For example, there is a source of Calvin's commentaries that are super-easy to milestone and set up for TOC using Word's find-and-replace, so I'll probably be satisfied with those.
Your comment also reminds me to check with stilltruth.com frequently to see if there are any .docx files being contributed for L4 PBs. Thomas' last post on PBs there suggest there might be some in the future.
Just a reminder, there is more to the Gill collection than just is commentaries.
Oh! How I have waited for Gill! Unbelievable that Gill has never been added to the LDLS! One of the greatest commentators of all time. Once again this morning I had to access a different program to read his works.
Upped mine to $100.
Upped mine to $50.00
I also have been waiting for Gill's works - I set my bid at $180.00 and would pay this if Logos would get going on this - Gill is one of the top 5 greatest commentators on Holy Scripture - it is time to have this in Logos. If Logos doesn't do it soon - I will set out to put all of Gill's writings in Word so we can at least have it in our libraries.
Yes, I suspect the reason that Gill can easily be accessed for free elsewhere limits its attraction here, even at CP's price. I have it in another program but will gladly pay $40 to have it in my Logos library.
Glad to see John Gill is getting a little more attention. I have supported others in bidding on CP products. I just hope that others might return the favor. [:)]
Just put in my bid!
Don't understand how "upping the bid" works, but I did for this and also for the Jewish Encyclopedia. Maybe it will help to speed things along.
I'll be very happy when this finally goes into production! It worked for Barnes!
Ron, I'm under the impression Logos has a "magic number" for each of the resources in Community Pricing. The smaller the bid amounts, the more bids must be secured to move the resource into production. If we raise our individual bids and enough people do it, we in effect cover more ground per bid to make the number Logos will produce the resource for.
Then there's the momentum a resource picks up as it nears the production line. Once it goes over, and e-mails are sent to all interested parties, it seems to drive the price down (even more people jump in). The tough part is currently where we stand with Gill.
