NASB 1977

Should I pay for the 1977 edition of the NASB? I have the platinum edition. Is this older version not included?

I do not believe that the NASB 1977 is available. It is not included with base packages, nor do I believe it is available as a stand alone product.
EDIT: I stand corrected. Neither a search for "NASB" nor "NASB 1977" brought it up.

It's no longer included in the base packages, but Lockman recently made it available for individual purchase.

It does not come with the base packages so Piet, if you want it, you'll need to buy it individually.

Wonder if Lockman Foundation would allow Logos to reduce NASB 1977 price ($ 49.95) to be closer to Kindle edition ($ 2.99) for non-interlinear version:
Wonder if NASB 1995 Update Reverse Interlinear tagging could be incorporated into NASB 1977 ? (then $ 49.95 would be worthwhile).

It is not a big issue. I am involved in Bible Translation. And recently I was thinking about the upgrades of different versions I could access, which can give some insight in the developments of thinking/belief which is expressed in Bible Translation. Take for instance gender awareness.. There are two versions of the NIV I have in Logos 4. In Paratext I have two versions of the NLT on Paratext and I have the upgraded version of 1995 for the NASB. The 1977 version is available on Logos 4. Just go to logos.com and do not search for NASB or NASB 1977, but New American Standard Bible and then you will find the NASB 1977 as well, which will cost 49,95 dollars as mentioned in one of your reactions. It would be interesting to have this edition, but 49,95 dollars is too much for me. Maybe once the price will be reduced since not many people will be interested in it anymore anyway. In the mean time, keep smiling I will.

Personally watching NASB 1977 price (if dropped to match Kindle edition, know of 2 library purchases).

I think 50 dollars is way overpriced for a "normal" bible - Logos users who need to have a certain edition (e.g. because it's the official pew/pulpit bible their church uses) will probably pay it, others who just like to compare several versions may not go into this. Admittedly, the NASB 95 is priced USD 50 as well - thus I had never bought it, if it wasn't contained in the great, USD 30 bundle http://www.logos.com/product/8734/nas-electronic-bible-library
We saw a similar thing lastly with NAB (USD 30) and the http://www.logos.com/product/5197/collegeville-catholic-reference-library-basic-scripture-edition-version-1 (CD-ROM, USD 25). It seems to be worthwile looking for bibles included in bundles rather than buying them standalone.

In the late 1990's I purchased Nelson's Electronic Bible Reference Library and it did not include the NIV or the NASB. You pay for these resources individually, but it I remember correctly, they were $49 a piece and that was over 20 years ago.

I'm pretty sure that the price is set by Lockman who owns the rights the the NASB.
It's only been within the past year or so that the NASB 1977 was made available again in Logos and prior to this there were a number of users who expressed an interest in it. Given the cost though, I don't know how many actually followed through with purchasing it.

ups, sorry, typo on my part: it should read 40, as it is an example of a bundle including the bible being significantly cheaper than the standalone bible.
