Logos 4 Mac quit unexpectedly

Recently the Logos 4 Mac on my MBP 13" 2011 version with 8GB RAM and SSD is not very stable. It often quit unexpectedly, and usually loaded with some noticeable lag.

Is it a problem of the Logos 4 Mac in general (having some bugs?) or is it a sign that I should restore my computer? I am quite new to Mac (a few months old), using PC terms, should I format the SSD and reinstall the OS and every other things?

Wonder about restarting Mac ? Logos 4 Mac has some memory leakage issues that need periodic restart of Mac OS X to reset.

After researching "mac ssd slowing down", added "Solid State Disk Reconditioning - older Solid State Disks (SSD) may need periodic reconditioning (during searching, Logos 4 can create many small temp files)" to wiki Mac Troubleshooting => Slow Performance , which also includes a screen shot of Apple's Activity Monitor (may want to monitor memory usage; can be an indication when to restart Mac).

For quit unexpectedly, suggest enabling diagnostic logging always and attaching archive of diagnostic log files after Logos 4 Mac quits unexpectedly. Wiki Mac Troubleshooting => How to Report Bugs in Logos 4 Mac has steps. Would like to look at diagnostic logs before suggesting stuff to try.

By the way, Mac OS X seldom needs OS reinstall; installing Apple Software Updates is recommended.

Thanks. That's very helpful especially when I am new to Mac and use it as my primary computer now.

About the SSD reconditioning. The SSD on my MBP is the boot disk, so how should I clone the disk? Use the Time Capsule? And After that, is it possible to recondition the SSD on my own MBP? Does it mean I need to boot from another external HDD (is it possible)? Or something like DOS environment?

Sometimes it quit unexpectedly when the software is launched and try to recover to the previous state (I am using OSX Lion and it is what the OSX told me).

I updated all the softwares to its latest version. I think I need to turn on the log. Thanks.

By the way, the DiskTester mentioned is quite expensive. Any trial version or alternative free/cheaper software?

Using an external drive to boot a Mac is easy; when booting up Mac, press and hold option key so all storage devices (internal and external) are scanned for bootable partitions. When devices appear, release option key, then choose partition to boot.

Apple's Disk Utility can clone partitions; personally boot OS X from a different partition before cloning primary internal boot partition.

Use the Time Capsule?

Apologies: not know if Time Capsule bootable. Personally formatted external drive for Time Machine use that included partitions so could clone internal partitions.

Noticed Restoring Performance steps on http://macperformanceguide.com/Storage-SSD-Reconditioning.html (bottom of page) could be done with Apple's Disk Utility that is included with Mac OS X (format partition and erase free space to completely overwrite entire SSD).
