Notes and Clippings

I like the notes and clippings features, but I find that clippings is more along the lines of what I'd like notes to be, and I wish notes could have an option to be simpler. Here's what I mean:
For many of my notes I want to make it easier to find in the future, as my notes library gets bigger, and therefore tags would be valuable in notes. I would use Clippings as my notes, but it doesn't provide a link to the clipping from the text like notes does.
Also, it would be nice if you could link to other things besides websites. I'd like to be able to link to a Pages or Word document, maybe a picture or a song, etc., and I haven't found those functionalities.
Finally, regarding Notes being simpler, there are times that I don't really want a detailed Note, like the current Note format. It would be nice to have a Simple Note, which is simply a box to write text, without titles or anything else, so that when you hover over the link to that Simple Note it shows the text. Sometimes the full-blown note is just more than I want for the simplicity of the note being added.
Thanks.

I believe that the URL link can be to any valid URL - which includes documents, Logos resources, web pages, etc.

I have never been able to link to a document on my computer.
The instruction in the Notes wiki works for me Creating hyperlinks to documents in your computer
These are the full instructions for those who are not familiar with constructing full path names. Try it with a file which you already have a shortcut, but pay close attention to steps 7b & 7c to remove the quotes.
EDIT: the reason for telling others to create a shortcut is so that the full pathname is built for them. L4 will not allow you to paste part of the path and then the rest. As soon as you paste just the path and go back to paste the filename & extention, L4 clears the first paste. So instead of building shortcuts for a docx file just for the full path/filename, i use notepad and build the full name there and copy/paste it into the hyperlink box.
Also linking inside a Clipping
The down side is that we cannot create a clipping without tying it to a resource in Logos4. To get around this i sometimes create a clipping to a PB that i have built and then paste things from a Web page or other things. Of course the bibliography info is useless in these cases.

Sorry about that. I was thinking about PBs.

That makes sense, but it doesn't give instructions for Mac. Probably written before there was a Mac version. I realize the only difference is in how you find the file path, so I guess I'll just have to fool around and figure it out. I doubt its that difficult. Thanks for the replies M.J. and Steve.
