Logos Hymnal and Hymnal Resource MIDI

Does anyone know why Logos 4 Platinum doesn't allow the MIDI's to be downloaded or played in any program other than Logos 4?  I understand that if you buy the software as an add on, it will allow you to play the songs as a separate file through other programs.  If this is true, I don't think it's a copyright issue.  Are there sanction ways around this?
