Internet Explorer will not display after clicking in L4

When I open Logs, then click on the [more] button in an article, I always get the message in IE that Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.It is a problem of interaction somehow between Logos and McAfee. On the one hand Logos is the only program with that problem. On the other hand when I turn off the firewall in McAfee then clicking more works fine.

I have tried changing numerous settings in McAfee to get it to work - all to no avail. I thought perhaps someone might have had the same problem and would know how to approach it.

One additional fact I just discovered may help pinpoint the problem. If I click a link that is for other than the Logos Blog it seems to work fine. Only those links that point to the Logos blog don't seem to work. Further, if I get to blog page by disabling McAfee, clicking, then re-enabling McAfee, I still have the same problem going to a link pointed to by the blog page.

The post wasn't encouraging so far as finding the answer. and it wasn't clear whether it was the same problem or not. Since you say Logos has one IP address, then it may not be. But it did give me one idea. I pasted the url in the browser on another machine which runs Norton, not McAfee, and it worked fine. That further confirmed that in some way the problem is that McAfee and the Logos blog seem not to want to play nicely with each other.

I think some Security programs are unnecessarily intrusive and I quickly got rid of McAfee which came with other bloatware on this laptop. I just run the free Microsoft Security program.

I just got my ZoneAlarm upgrade and it was a disaster. Every file that hit my PC was carefully checked. Download speeds dropped to a crawl. As time passed, I was turning off this and that security feature just to work. I wonder if they do that in their competition with other virus packages (we catch EVERYTHING!!).

Out of control security often leads to less security.

I just got my ZoneAlarm upgrade and it was a disaster.

Been there. I've had similar issues with the top five Security Suites over the last few years and dropped them when the subscription came up for renewal.

Somehow I missed that before. Thanks much! That did the trick. A single IP address was listed there to block. I changed that to allow and now everything works!

I am curious why McAfee thinks Logos is risky, but it hasn't flagged anything else as risky. It does make me wonder what is behind that?
