I'm considering purchasing the Preacher's Commentary and was didn't know how valuable this resource is to others.
I have the Platinum package along with other commentary series including Tyndale, Cornerstone, WBC, NIC, Lange, and EEC.
Thanks.

Like any commentary set, this homiletical commentary is uneven. Some places it shines, other places it's dull.
I have 4 sets of homiletical commentaries Preaching the Word (R.Kent Hughes), is my favorite set, this one would be second, the other two are Horae Homileticae and The Pulpit Commentary. Of the last two, the Pulpit Commentary has proved least helpful (to me -- so far) and Horae sometimes helpful, other times not.
These judgments are highly subjective though and only speak to how I have used them in my regular work. I have not studied them thoroughly, just used them in specific instances.
If you are a preacher or teacher, you may find The Preachers Commentary sometimes helpful to you. I do recommend it as a homiletical commentary, and suggest that if you use homiletical commentaries you have a few sets.
I would agree that it is uneven as in ANY series, but generally I find there tends to be a nice devotional quality to it most of the time. Styling might be somewhat comparable to Cornerstone, and in general i would say if you like the Cornerstone series you will probably enjoy Preachers.

If you have bought WBC recently (within 6 months I suppose) you can ask for discount to Nelson Bible Reference Bundle http://www.logos.com/product/9653/nelson-bible-reference-bundle that includes both the WBC and the Preacher's Commentary Series plus much more. That's how I did.
Because I was able to purchase the Preacher's Commentary cd rom for under $20 (including shipping) recently, I bought it. For that price, it was well worth it.
I caught the Preacher's Commentary on a bookstore sale shelf for $10. I would not have paid full price for it.

Thanks for the idea. I bought the WBC over a year ago and have a lot of the resources already in the Nelson Bible Reference Bundle so it wouldn't be a good deal for me.
I have the same 4 & rate them about the same. However, because Preacher's is usually shorter than Preaching the Word, I almost always consult Preacher's where if Preaching is too long (it often is), I may skip it no matter how good it is.
Blessings
Do a search you can find the carom for $29, even a major Christian book Distributer has it for $57
