What commentaries have you found particularly useful when reading/researching Deuteronomy?
Another tough book.
Craigie (NICOT), then Merrill (NAC) and Thompson (Tyndale).
Christensen (WBC) is little help.
Perhaps if and when Zondervan releases the NIBC OT volumes on the Pentateuch we'd have another solid option in Christopher Wright's volume.
I have been preaching a series from Deuteronomy recently and appreciate Craigie - NICOT
For Deuteronomy, I always check Driver in the International Critical Commentary first. Driver, of the Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew lexicon fame, is always helpful. I also greatly appreciate the Expositor's Bible commentary, now on community priciing. Andrew Harper, an eminent Hebrew scholar, offers a very practical yet critical work on Deuteronomy in this set.
Let me add two more commentaries that I find helpful. The Cambridge Bible volume is short, but it helps where help is needed.
CHMackintosh is rich and practical. Excellent for preachers and devotional study.
i guess I missed another thread related to this? Anyway, if you are asking about ones I like that I already own, within Logos, I would add:
College Press NIV on Deuteronomy by Dr. Gary Hall. He is a brilliant and careful OT scholar. His volume is not overly technical, but that does not exclude good insight into structure, or bringing up points of view that are insightful--he does those things well.
I find the CPNIV series uneven, but his volume is definitely one to recommend for good insight without getting bogged down.
I found the Brueggemann, Abingdon OT Commentary to be very helpful.
