Automating L4 for Word Processing
OK, we lost DDE when we went to Series X. BUT, we got to use Automation.
I've got a whole raft of WordPerfect macros (and Andrew McKenzie has some macros for Word) that use the automation feature for accessing the Libronix DLS from within our word processing environment.
I've not seen anything about having an automation capability with L4 --
I know Logos is wanting a single product that looks and acts like a Mac program, whether it's being used on a Mac or a Windows platform. I don't like it, but that seems to be the wave of Logos' future.
And, I know that Logos believes that we dinosaurs are a dying breed and that the younger generation (that doesn't know what a DIP switch is or was) isn't interested in "tweaking"
However, comma, this old Stegosaurus would still like some control over my Bible program. And, I'd like to be able to access features within my Bible program through the use of macros in my word processor (athough I suspect the Mac community is blissfully ignorant of these features).
So, my question is simply this: Will there be any ability to automate the interface between Logos 4 and our word processors?

Bradley Grainger talked about exposing the programming interface for user interaction. It won't come til later...
I'll look for the post.

Thanks Thomas -- it probably came in while I was occupied at the hospital with Donna.

Thomas is this the link you were thinking of... It had to do with API and the potential of getting Smart Tags up and running again...
