As it says on the title: I got the note that a new download was ready to be installed (yay!) and clicked the tray icon and chose restart Logos.
The install initiated but the program did not restart.
To clarify: it did not restart automatically as normal. But it did start when I clicked the icon.
Before manually restarting the program after an update, you may want to check first that setup isn't still running by checking the Task Manager Processes tab for Logos4setup.exe. If neither Logos4Setup.exe nor Logos4.exe is running, then manually open the program.
I wonder whether the need to elevate permissions for the Logos4Prerequisites.msi update could have interfered. We would probably need to get the setup logs from you to determine the problem.
All the logs are attached to the first post Melissa - including the setup logs. :-)
So sorry. [:$]
Same thing happened (or rather didn't happen) this morning.
I installed 4.5 b3 and the program did not restart on it's own. Sorry I don't remember if b2 did or not.
But logs are attached here: http://community.logos.com/cfs-file.ashx/__key/CommunityServer.Discussions.Components.Files/78/7331.logos4setup.logs_2E00_.zip

[I also had this exact same scenario]
I was not aware that this was an issue.
But it did "surprise" me that "I" had to finally click on the icon to re-start. I'd not expected that.
As I was not expecting it/did not know it was an issue I'm not sure that there would still be any helpful logs.
I've had the same experience for the last several beta versions. Click to install and restart and the system only installs. I have to manually start Logos after the install. Just a minor annoyance, but it's nice when Logos automatically restarts after installing a new version.
When I installed 4.5 B1 it took a lot of time after the install untill Logos restarted. First I thought Logos had crashed but I gave it a try and after a while Logos finally restarted. I think this delay was when Logos was importing my higlights to notefiles.
Is it possible that L4 not got the time to finish importing all of your highlights the first time and then now trying to import the rest of your higlights during the install of the rescent beta?
The setup process can take longer some times, and there isn't always an install window on the screen when the process is running. When the next beta is released, wait a bit longer and check Task Manager to see if the Logos4Setup.exe process is still running before manually restarting the program. Let us know what happens.
I didn't notice that B3 was waiting to install, until I saw this thread. I ran it and waited for it to restart Logos. It did not.
So I checked, via Task Manager as you requested and do not see the Logos4Setup.exe process in any tab of the Task Manager, including the Processes tab. Manually restarting Logos4, watching the Processes tab (sorted alphabetically by Image Name), does not show any more Logos4Setup (or install) behavior.

I should have added to my post, to attach install and setup logs. Also, if it doesn't restart with the next beta update, attach a Logos4.log prior to manual restart.
Okay, will do.
In the mean time. the setup and library install logs haven't been overwritten. I'll put those up, in case there's something there (nothing obvious to me, but...)
