BUG? Highlights take 20 seconds to apply.

Highlights in my main bible (ESV) are taking forever to apply (> 20 seconds) in the 4.5 beta. The note file entry appears almost immediately, but the highlight in the text appears a lot later. This is probably related to the amount of highlighting already in the ESV--highlighting another resource takes only a few seconds. But 4.5 is taking much longer than 4.3 ever did (to the best of my remembrance).
EDIT: Well that last one I just did only took 10 seconds.

I rebooted to clear out memory and tried it again. It took 11 seconds to show the highlight in the ESV. That's still far too long. Can this be made better or should I expect this to be the norm?

Something inefficient is happening I believe. Highlighting used to be almost instantaneous, as did notes (if the note file was already opened) on my system. This is no longer the case - I too am getting ~20 second delays between the clicking of a button and the final application of the highlight.
I expect it will clear up as the beta progresses, but I join my report to your own to affirm that it is indeed happening as of 4.5 β2.
Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

I believe development is looking into this already, but I will make sure a bug report has been filed.
Todd - Could you attach a new log after reproducing the delay with Beta 2 installed? Thanks.

Here is it. I started Logos, selected some text in the ESV, and applied the Orange Highlighter highlight. It took 30 seconds this time for the highlight to appear.

The developer who has been looking into this has found that the problem occurs when applying a custom image markup, especially with very large images. Since you were applying the Orange Highlighter, though, it may be a different issue. I'll provide your log to him to review.

The first line was logged when I clicked the highlight style, and the last three lines were logged when the highlight appeared. Nothing was logged in between.MacBook Pro (2019), ThinkPad E540
