Indexing Question

I just did a fresh install of my Mac OSX, and Logos is doing the norm, indexing. In the meantime, I've rebooted the computer since it's been indexing. My question is, does that mean my indexing starts from the beginning again and starts all over? Or is it simply picking up from where it left off?

Or is it doing multiple supplemental reindexes, therefore making it better for me to start over and rebuild the indexing anyways and leave it on without turning computer off or restarting?

Hi Jason

I think that the received wisdom is not to reboot the computer while indexing is proceeding.

The best bet is to start indexing just before bed and check in the morning to see if it is finished.

Unless, that is, you have a penchant for watching paint dry.

Suspect indexing starts over.

For grins, used rebuild bible index command, which deleted Bible Index. After 65 resources were indexed, moved Indexer.log file to different folder, then restarted Mac OS X. Looking at Indexer.log after restart shows starting over; resources individually indexed before restart were indexed again. After resource indexing complete, then results are merged.
