Moody Bible
Institute has given permission to reprint this copy of the AM Bible Courseware –
Distance Learning Index.
In Logos 3, the
“Moody Bible Institute – Distance Learning” course had a Front Page, with a (Home)
button, a (QuickStart) button, an (About LDLS) button and a (Tech Support) button,
located above (My Courses) which is now no longer available in Logos 4.
In Logos 4,
to complete the AM Bible Courseware – Distance Learning course as you would
have in Logos 3 you can do what Kay at Moody’s and I have come up with. If you
have a better way please let us know.
You might
want to set up your windows first. On my computer I have horizontal split windows,
the AM Bible Courseware – Distance Learning course in the top window and Bibles
and Commentaries in the lower window.
1. Start
Logos 4.
2. Click the
Library Icon.
3. Click in the (Search) box / type in (A2010)
this is the first course “First Steps in the Christian
Faith” in the AM Bible Courseware.
4. Click on either the (Book) icon in
the pop-up or click on the Title (A2010 – First Steps in the Christian Faith).
The
new Logos 4 – I call it the – (AM Index Window) is on the left and the (Lesson
Window) is on the right.
We
can access all of the lessons in the (A2010 -
First Steps in the Christian Faith) course from here.
To save the Layout
5. Click on the word (Layouts) top
right of your monitors window.
6. Click on the word (Snapshot) below
the top layout that says (NOW).
7. Type in something. I typed in (My
AM Course).
As you go through the lessons and you
want to save your place and return to the same place at a later date.
8. Right Click on the name you gave
your Layout (My AM Course) or (Whatever you named your Layout).
9. Chose (Update to current snapshot).
Now all you have to do to continue
with your lessons is:
10. Start Logos 4.
11. Click on the word (Layouts) top
right of your monitors window.
12. Under (Named Layouts) click on (My
AM Course) or (Whatever you named your Layout).
You should be back where you left
off.
To the top
right of the (AM Index Window) is a double (arrow) used to close and open the (AM
Index Window).
We can also
just click on the double (arrow) to close the (AM Index Window) and just start
at the beginning of the course and go from there. Logos 4 will go right through
(in order) all of the lessons.
You can
check this by:
1. Opening
the (AM Index Window).
2. Clicking
on (Title Page) at the very top.
3. At the
bottom right of the main (Lesson Window) click and hold down the (Page Down Arrow) and watch
in the (AM Index Window) Logos 4 go all the way down, through all the lessons in order.
I don’t think
you will need to do this now, but to get to any course or lesson in the AM
Bible Courseware – Distance Learning course, just use your printed index from
the top of this document (if you want a printed reference), and type in the
reference letter and number for the course, such as
A2010.
The printed index
reference could come in handy in case something went wrong and we needed that
list of Course Numbers when we no longer have Logos 3.
