Living in Russia & Trying to Buy a Phone that will work with Logos
Hi,
As the subject line says, I live in Russia and am trying to find a phone that will work with Logos (without me having to break the bank to purchase the phone). The only minimum requirements that I found on this web-site were, "Logos for Android requires Android 2.1 or higher... The Logos for Android app requires about 20MB of free space on the device, and an SD card must be present (some devices, like the Nexus S, have the equivalent of an SD card built in)."
- What difference does it make if you have an internal vs. external SD card?
- Which is better: an internal or external SD card? I'm guessing that it will be easier for me to find a phone with an external SD card.
- Does Logos do automatic updates on the phone? Just curious because my phone plan isn't unlimited, but makes me pay by the MB downloaded. If Logos tries to make frequent updates/downloads on my phone (like it always does on my laptop), then I will be in big trouble!
- Does Logos always access the internet when you use the App? Again, like I said before I have pay to by the MB.
- Does the App download your whole library? I'm guessing it only downloads the books you select?
Thanks!

Kristina, Russia or not doesn't matter much.
I live in Moscow, Russia, and use a cheap Samsung Gio (S5660) with Logos. It has Android 2.2.4 on board, which is enough.
1,2) internal SD would be better in terms of speed.
3) Samsung has Android Market and that app is what updates Logos app for you. You can set automatic updates and/or manual.
4) Yes, it does, to sync the library. If you use MTS Bit (unlimited, 200 roubles/month) or similar plans by Beeline or Megafon, it would fit.
5) No, You have to search by title or author and download for yourself whatever you need for offline use.

One more thing.
After several months of using Logos on Android phone, I find it would be better on a 7" or 10" tablet, because the screen would be bigger. Better for reading.
Logos Android app is mostly for reading right now. Passage Guide needs online access and you don't have interlinear and/or more complicated features. And you don't have notes yet.
And reading on Kindle (Kindle for Android) is still more comfortable than reading on Android, due to better font size stepping.
