Make Highlighting Feature Better (an Idea)

Hi all. I own the Portfolio and have been a Logos user pretty much since you have been in business. Version 4 is fantastic but, like most things, can be just a tad better.

The current highlighting takes up a good bit of screen real estate and I think could be much more user-friendly if you made it part of the right click menu. I know you can float the panel but please consider adding highlighing to the right click menu.

Did you know that you can assign keystrokes to your favorite highlighting styles (for example green for me is g and yellow is y etc). Then you don't even need to have the highlighting tab open

Rick - Welcome to the forums! I am not sure if I understand exactly what you want. On my screen shot below, I have the highlighting pallet open, as well as the right click contextual menu. Are you wanting ALL of the highlighting pallet to be stuck in the contextual menu? Personally I would not want that and I think it would slow things down in many ways.

Are you aware that you can assign short cut keys to the highlighters? Notice in my screen shot that I have assigned letters to various highlighters. When I have a text selected, I press "Y" to add a yellow highlight to the text. Also, did you see that I combined my highlighting pallet with the favorites and explorer to save space?

I wouldn't want this, but if the highlight shortcut key menu appeared in a right click on highlighted text as an option, I would find that very helpful. It contains a reminder of what you assigned to each alphabetical key.

Edit: A (marginal) use of personal books would be to create one of a few words named highlight keys. Put a reminder of what some of your highlight shortcut keys are in the description section of the book, build the book and then drag it into the shortcut bar. Now we have a (limited) popup available that reminds us (absent-minded professors) what we assigned to our keys.
