Temporary Glitch or New Policy?

Within the orders section of my account, my order history is now showing as $ (USD) while my Pre-pubs and CP bid are £ (GBP). Why?

I have always seen it as £GBP ($USD is meaningless to me). Is this a recent bug or a new policy? The page is clearly showing the correct currency at the top so it is not my user setting.

BTW. Slightly off topic, when bidding on CP items, can we see both the £GBP price (kinda relevant on what I will pay) but also the $USD price, at the same time.

Posts like CP: Classic Commentaries and Studies Collections Pricing Strategy talking about $40 are easier to understand if i also know the USD price.

For orders that you have already paid for, we are showing the prices in USD since that was the amount charged. Previously we were showing the amount in your current currency which was not accurate. If there was a big swing in the conversion rate, we would show that as a change in the order cost.

For orders that have not yet been charged, we show the amount using your current currency, which is generally pretty accurate but may change daily depending on the conversion rates.

I do not suppose that there is a way to revert back to the previous system .... Historical accuracy is only as useful as the relevance of the units ... you could give me the $ price to 4 decimal places ... but unless I know what the $ means (in my own terms) it is not that useful.

From a user's point of view you do not charge $ ... I actually pay GBP ... I know the CC company determines the rate and that there is no historical record of this or way to ever start recording it).

I would rather have a fluctuating estimate than a fixed number with no relevance, and with no consistency with the remainder of the page.

A better idea might be for you to store the estimated exchange rate used by your site at the time that you process the order ... that will be fixed in time, not fluctuating, but also in a relevant currency.
