references from my library not showing up in scripture search

I am not even sure how to word this, but when I search for a Bible verse from the "Go"box, It brings up several windows: Bibles, commentaries, Text Comparison, Information, and on the far left, the passage guide. Under the passage guide, it has several headings, such as commentaries, my content, cross references, parallel passages, and so forth. What I don't see over there is a list of other references from my library that contain the Bible reference in question.

So for example, if I type in James 2:21, it brings up my commentaries, exegetical guide, cross references, and on and on, but there is not a tab containing other resources in my library that mention James 2:21. Shouldn't that be a feature of the program?

The good news is...it is! there is a tool dedicated to the task. Click on Tools>Cited By.

You will need to set up collections to make this more usefully. For instance if you create a collection of the theologies, and another collection for journals, and another for all your resources. then in the Cited By tool you will have a section for each of those categories.

you can also create a guide template that includes this feature in it. you would add a "Collections" section and set it to the collection you want in that section. If you name this guide template you create "My Passage Guide" I believe it will be the one that comes up when you type a reference in the "Go" Box.

While some people like the Cited-By tool, or the Collections section in the Passage Guide, I prefer using the search window (opened by the magnifying glass button) because the results can be sorted different ways and the number of results isn't limited (like it is in the Cited-By window or the Passage Guide). In fact, those two tools open up a search window when you click "more", so, I say, let's by-pass the middle man. [:D]

To do a reference search in the search window, select "Basic" search, enter a passage reference in the search field and hit enter.
