How Can I...

How can I import a single note & the highlights it interacts with? I already have all the rest of them & don't want to lose any of what I've already imported, or have to clean them out after they all come over...

But I've kept working in L3 in this one note.... (was teaching the class before notes were stable enough to move over, still teaching the class...)

So now, how can I convert the 1 note into L4? And the highlights that go with it (that it interacts with)?

Bill,

Simply temporarily move all the other notes but that one from your Libronix DLS/Annotations file (I think that's the address, but you'll know what I mean). When you run import it will only take in that one.

i don't know about the highlights as they are all in one file as I recall (don't have L3 on this computer to check).

Thanks, Mark! That answers half the question...

Since highlights are just as critical as the notes (often, the note is attached to a highlight, not the text), I'll have to wait to implement until there's an answer on the hightlights, too.... A screen snapshot of just one page of Jeremiah may help explain why it's an issue. Every page is like that....

They are contained in \Documents\Libronix DLS\ResourceMarkup\General Markup_files. Don't be put off by the random folder/file names as you can use their Date Modified as a guide, and the *.lbxdat files can be opened with any text editor e.g.

(in this case there are no highlights in the resource as there is nothing between <entries> and </entries>)

I get it on editing the file as if it were text (since it is) & could do that... What I still don't get is how I'd get it to L4... ?

In L4 use the command Import Highlighting.

But it means you must delete the markups you don't want; reading the records to know whether to keep them or not.
