Need opinions to help me decide on Camp Logos format

Greetings all;

I want to get Camp Logos and also Camp Logos 2 when it comes out to do self study. I currently have a MBP, 2 years old, with 8 GB RAM. I run Parallels v7 with a Win7 VM. I have Logos for Win installed in the VM and also Logos installed on the Mac side.

I am trying to decide on a platform to use full time, either Logos on the PC or Logos on the Mac. If I use Logos on the PC I have 4 GB RAM dedicated to the VM. If I use Logos on the MAC, I could shut down the VM and have all 8 GB RAM for Logos to use on the Mac.

It seems to me that currently Logos for Win is still more developed than Logos for the Mac. Do we know how much longer this will be the case?

When it comes to Camp Logos, I'm trying to decide on the PC format or the Mac format. I want that format to mirror the version of Logos I'm using because the screenshots would be the same and I believe easier to follow because of that.

I guess the biggest deciding point would be how much longer it will be before Logos for Mac is fully developed. I know that development never truly stops, but when will Mac Logos be up to Win Logos?

Also, if they created the Camp Logos videos for Mac with the then current version of Logos for Mac, does that mean some of the functionality would be missing in the videos because it may not have been developed in the Mac version?

Am I making sense here at all?

What are some of you using? Have you also considered this?

Hi Chris,

I moved to L4 Mac quite a while ago on my late 2008 MBP. I have a PC and really do not see much difference between the two given how I use the software. Your usage may be different and as such you may experience more difference between the two. I really do not think the screen shots from the DVD will differ enough to make much of a difference. I think the two are really comparable in how they function with minor exceptions. I would go with the Mac version, but I don't think it will make much difference in learning and function.

Hi John;

In what way do you use Logos4 on the Mac? Do you do word studies for example? I have the Learn to use Biblical Greek/Hebrew as well as the Learn to do Word Studies in Greek/Hebrew that I want to start using. I would "guess" that Logos4 for the Mac would be fine as Mr Cisneros uses a Mac to create the Learn to do Word Studies Greek videos and the date time-stamp in from June of this year as I remember so at that time it was adequate and since has received further development.

Currently not know. Looking at Logos User Voice suggestions, noticed OS X Lion Full Screen and multi-finger gestures is more desired than Feature Parity.

Wiki Mac and PC User Interface Differences => Feature Parity has list of many differences between PC and Mac, including Logos Beta improvements.

Thankful Logos 4.5 Beta 1 includes gestures plus several feature parity improvements; looking forward to removing Feature Parity after a future stable release.

Thankful Logos 4 does share code base for Mac and PC along with cross platform sync. Many Logos 4 Mac forum questions have been answered with Logos 4 Windows screen shots. Keyboard shortcuts can be a bit different; PC control key often becomes command key on Mac.
