Notes: How do I paste a link to a reference into a note?

Example: I want to add a note to a word in a particular verse in my English Bible(s) that will contain a link to the definition of the related Greek word in TDNT.

When I use Copy URL (in TDNT) and paste it into a note, it does not form a link, only long ugly text.

I can create a note from TDNT that will take me back there from the note file since the title of the note will be a link, but I can't link that note so it will appear next to the word in my English Bible(s). I don't think this is the right way to do it anyway, but I tried to see if I could create a work-around.

Perhaps I've forgotten how to create links or Logos doesn't do this (as it easily did in L3).

Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

Hi Jim,

1. Right-click on a word in the NT

2. In the pop-up menu, click on Selection and then click on the name of your open note file.

 

3. Enter your text into the note, then select the part of the text that you want to be the link to your TDNT.

4. Now locate your word ref in the TDNT and press Ctrl Alt C or use the menu to select URL. (this places a link into your clipboard)

5. Now in your note (i usually click on the tab so my selected text does not get de-selected) right-click on the Hyperlink box and in the pop-up menu click on Paste. (this pastes your URL from the clipboard from step 4)

6. Click somewhere in the note text so that it de-selects your text. You will then notice that your text has been made into a link.

 

7. Now if you hover your mouse over the link, L4 will show you an excerpt from your TDNT, and if you hold the Ctrl key down and left click with your mouse L4 will open your TDNT.
