Deleting Books

I need some help from you guys/gals out there. I've moved some books to the Hidden file in Logos. How do I completely delete them so I can recover lost space on my hard drive? Of can I delete them at all? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Lonnie

When you say you have moved them to the "hidden" file, I assume you have dragged them to the "Hidden Resources" section under Program Settings.

If that is the case, then the next time you restart Logos the associated files will be automatically removed from your hard drive.

If - in the future - you want them back you can remove them from the hidden resources section and they will be redownloaded.

Lonnie - I really don't like Logo's nomenclature of "hidden" books. Really, these are archived resources which means that the books are removed from all installations, but Logos maintains your license on their servers if you decide to reinstall at a later date.

Yes, Graham, that's exactly what I meant and didn't express very well. Thanks for the info. It means I won't need to do any deleting and will have the books at my disposal if I want them. Peace.

I goofed and downloaded all the free books available. Many were Latin, Greek and US Civil war that I had to "hide". Well, I hid them, but now I have over 1000 books on my iPod that I would like deleted.

My desktop synchronized alright several hours ago, but not my iPod. Please tell me I don't have to manually delete every one of the 1000 files one at the time again on each iPod and device I use...

Some thoughts:

Other than a handful that comes with the mobile app, no books/resources are automatically downloaded to your iPod. If you downloaded these resources, you can uninstall the app, but you will have to re-download the other books you have downloaded. My guess is that you did NOT download them, but they are still in your library.
If you have hidden the books on your desktop app, I believe that they should be unavailable on your mobile device. There are, however, currently sync issues being which logos is working on. They may disappear automatically after a few weeks.
Another option, if you really don't want the books, is to call Logos customer service and have them remove the licenses from your account.

Today is Black Friday and the local Christian Bookstore has 7 Logos packages for $5.00 each that I plan to pick up really soon for our pastor and for me for Christmas.

I just got back from shopping and my iPod only shows the undeleted packages. So, for sake of future readers, I would say wait 24 hours for the system to catch up to all devices.

Library seems to recognise (not show) books hidden before I installed the app, but it still shows books I hid over a week ago.
