Serendipitous discovery and clippings files

Is there a shortcut, quick way to add a serendipitous discovery to a clippings file, given that there are no clippings files open and the one to which I wish to add the discovery was not the last clippings file I opened?

I glanced through the wiki and watched Mark B's video on 'clippins', but didn't see this.

Or do I need to go through the open-up process for each clippings file as I make the discoveries? (I'm not used to having a library this big...I keep finding stuff I want to be able to find later!)

You can create a shortcut for the command "facilitate serendipitous discovery" by dragging from Command bar to Shortcut bar, but there is no shortcut to add the discovery to a Clippings file; you still have to use the right-click Context menu.

You can keep a Serendipitous Discoveries clippings file and drag a shortcut to it to the toolbar and then you're ready to open it quickly to save new discoveries to it at any time.
