I'm missing my short cuts bar

I'm very new to Logos and decided to purchase it as I'm into my second year of Seminary. I've been watching the videos and have discovered that I am missing my short cuts bar from the home page. Any ideas on how to get it? It's not been there since I downloaded the software onto my new Mac.

No I mean the entire bar is not there for me to even attempt to build my own.

Can you give us a screen shot? (command-shift-3) The image will save on your desktop. Upload it by using the paper clip icon in the formatting toolbar of the forum post.

Thanks for posting the screen shot... You may want to blur your email address (or you can just edit the post and remove the screen shot).

The good news is that there is nothing wrong with your toolbar. It's there - you just haven't added anything to it!

I will write another post here in just a minute, but first, I wanted to share with you that there is a difference in the way windows & mac Logos looks. See the screenshot below:

To add a shortcut:

Open the resource that you want to add a link to.
Click on the name of the resource panel tab.
Drag the cursor to the right of the command bar. Voila!

Let me know if you have troubles with this.

Earlier I said you might want to edit your post. If you don't know how to do that:

Find the post you want to edit
Click on the "More" tab
Select "Edit"

I am trying to edit the post to remove the picture but I can't find anywhere after I hit edit that I can remove it.

Just highlight the picture in the post and press "delete" - then press "post" again.

Are you using Lion? If so, when you open a picture in "preview," you can use "Annotate" to hide things like your email address. In the screen shot below, I used three boxes to blur my messy desktop. (I should have taken off the red borders, but I guess that helps to make it more clear).

I also tried the steps to add a shortcut and it worked.

By the way, you can add other things as well. For example, in the screen shot below, I added a shortcut to "collections." Since I have created a collection with "eBook" as a criterion, I have a quick way to view my Vyrso books.

Well I'm still in the baby stages of figuring out how Logos works, in amidst the daily routine of family, farm, life and school. I will have to come back to this post in the coming days and figure out how to even make collections! I have been watching the Logos Tutorial videos and taking notes and that is helping as well. Each new discovery I make is making me very glad that I purchased this software. And, I'd rather ask questions and get answers so that I can learn, grow and get the most possible use out of the software. I've got a lot of years of school left yet. And at the same time I'm learning this I am learning how to use a Mac as I just purchased that as well.

Tip: PC control key often becomes command key on Mac.
