When I buy a book or a base package is the license how is it added to my user account on your server? So far I haven't been ask for any licenses numbers. I just wonder how it worked.
Randall - In software lingo, a license is the right to use intellectual property (movie, song, book, etc.) in a prescribed manner. In the "olden" days, Logos used to sell resources on physical media (i.e. floppies or CD-ROMS). Logos would protect these resources by using an "unlock key." With the advent of "the cloud," Logos handles this differently. Instead of having each user enter an unlock key, Logos handles this on their end. All that you have to do is make sure the license is attached to your account (i.e. email address). If you were to purchase something with 1) a different email address and 2) a different credit card, Logos would have no way to know that you are the same person. That is why it is important to have your logos account information in a safe place in case you forget what it is.
Since Logos websites use "cookies," when you return to Logos or Vyrso to purchase something, it will likely remember this information for you. As long as you don't change this information or let someone else purchase something on your computer, you will probably be fine.
Randall, there isn't the need in Logos 4 for the same sort of multi-digit numbering scheme to protect licenses like we had in L3. So in whatever way Logos does it, they have designed L4 to have the licensing done behind the scenes without any interaction from us, as long as we buy an item through Logos. When we buy resources or collections through other sources, there is an activation that needs to occur, but it can't be done in L4 like it was in L3. You either have to do it through L3 and synch license over the Internet or you have to call Customer Service to activate the product(s).
I have Thomas Nelson ebible series Deluxe and Platinum edition along with Max Lucado, Jeremiah and 1 more can't find the cd.
I haven't used them in a long time because Libronix 2.1 then 3.0 bogged down my PC. However Logos 4 seem very light.
I also like having Logos having all my books because I don't have to deal with software disc's. I am considering buying a base package may be the leader edition. What is so awesome is how all i did was install logos 4 and all my books downloaded.
I will be using Logos 4 much more.

Is there away to force re index? On my server my library says I have 338 books but laptop says 335. So I am missing 3 books and would like to force Logos4 on my laptop to rescan or re download whatever it is called.
try the command "Update ressources", it may do.

Perhaps you've already done this, but if not, I'd definitely set aside some time to view some of the Logos video tutorials that are available. You can find a list of them here: http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4_Video_Tutorials
I especially appreciate those by Mark Barnes who is a Logos Forum MVP.
If you want to 'unlock the power under the hood' there is probably no better way to do this than watching some of these videos.
Doesn't matter laptop and my server is still 3 books apart. Not like I ever read all 338 books so I would have no clue which ones. I even did update resources etc. no big deal
Here's a simple way on your laptop:
with a networked drive F: pointing to your server it is straightforward. Otherwise, first copy the server resources** to F:\resources.
** look for a path \Logos4\Data\user id\ResourceManager\Resources, but make sure you can view hidden files and folders (in Control Panel | Folder Options).
Thanks Dave,
I copy my resource folder to C:\ and scan it now Laptop and my server is on the same page 338 books
