search syntax help please

I want to search the entire bible for every verse 40.

If I tell you how will you tell me why? I believe that you could use a highlight similar to the visual filter http://community.logos.com/forums/t/39345.aspx and then do a search on that highlight. I've never tried it but it sounds like it should work.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Thanks for a speedy reply!
Ok, I'll confess [:)] My wife is turning 40 and I wanted to look and see if any *:40's would be applicable, humorous in some way, fun to see just what they are. Hope that makes sense.
thanks

That's delightful - good luck.

thank you!
You are too clever.
How did you get the first part of your search parameter "surface text"?

Hi Aaron

You click on it - by default it will say "All Text". Clicking on it shows a range of options to allow you to modify the range of the search - expand the one that says "Search Fields" and choose the field(s) you are interested in.
More information about this is in the "Fields" section of http://wiki.logos.com/Detailed_Search_Help - the whole article is well worth reading.
