Notes Duplicating Themselves?

I have created notes for different verses and in a number of places they have duplicated themselves so that in 1 John 3:21 I have many occurrences of the identical note. (see below)

This has happened before but in that instance I deleted the one duplication, but to have so many is very strange.

Perhaps this is a bug?

I have created notes for different verses and in a number of places they have duplicated themselves so that in 1 John 3:21 I have many occurrences of the identical note. (see below)

This happens when more than one instance of Logos 4 is open at a time. I think it can even happen when a laptop is 'sleeping,' with Logos4 still open, though I'm not sure. It's best to have only one instance of L4 open at any given time and to exit one instance before opening another.

The command remove duplicate notes may help, but be sure to close a second instance of Logos before running it, as I'm not sure what will happen if two or more instances are running when you use this command.

Praise God for posting this command to remove duplicates. I have wondered how to resolve and been doing by hand. Thank you Richard.

These steps were provided to me from Development.  I think I have also heard that this issue is going to be addressed in Logos 4.5 when released.

    1)      Close Logos on all computers except for one.

    2)      Run Sync now and wait for syncing to complete.

    a.       This may take several hours with how many duplicates we have created. You can tell when sync is done by looking at the arrows in the top right.

    3)      Go into Program Settings and set Use Internet to No.

    4)      Restart Logos 4.

    5)      Run “Remove duplicate notes” command.

    a.       This may also take a while depending on how many duplicates exist. You will see a working indicator in the top right next to the sync icon.

    6)      Go into Program Settings and set Use Internet to Yes.

    7)      Restart Logos 4.

    8)      Run Sync now and wait for syncing to complete. Once again this may take several hours.

    9)      Double check that all duplicates are still gone.

    a.       If there are not duplicates you should be able to use it on multiple machines again.
