No sound at all through Logos

I currently run Vista Home Premium (64 Bit). And I dont when it happened, but I have no sound for my Logos at all. It doesnt play the "start up" theme and I even tried the "read aloud" feature with no sucess. I made no changes to the program settings so I dont know why I am having problems.All other sounds play on my computer except for my Logos. Should I uninstall the reinstall Logos? Can anyone help?

Best guess is another application running is controlling the driver. But that would be an outside chance.

Go to Control Panel | Programs and Features, right click Logos4 Bible Software and select Repair.

Dave I did what you requested to no avail. When I click on the read a loud button and then click the volume control and shows that it is there is supposed to be sound coming out because the volume control is going up and down, but no sound is coming out. It is strange because all other sounds on my computer work, (itunes, media player, ect). I cant figure it out.

I don't know what happens if the "Play Sounds" in the Tools/Program Settings is turned to "No", but you could check that to make sure it's on "Yes".

Thanks Ralph, but I have checked that as well. It is turned on but still no sound. Not even the start up theme.

Well Stephen ... more ideas. Have you tried your hymnals > midi. I'd assume the startup's a wav being automatically fed out; and read-aloud is using another part of the sytem. So one more place would be to see how midi works (another part of the system).

I currently run Logitech speakers. But I have no other other issues with sound from anywhere else. The read a loud and start up theme isny working. I can the Hymnals (midi) just fine.

Do your speakers have a teather which allows you to adjust them?

MIDI works; hmmm that's interesting. Typically midi is run from outside but the L4 has internal controls to handle the process. I'd bet those internal controls are independent of the wav out and the read-aloud.

In any event, I think Customer Support is your next stop since 1 of the 3 sound processes does work and 2 don't (all appearing to be handled as send-outs).

In Tools->Program Settings make sure that you have Sound turned on for the startup sounds when you start Logos.

After changing if not initially set to Yes, then change to Yes and close and then reopen Logos and listen for the startup sound.

EDIT: if this fixes your startup sounds, then there is another issue which may be effecting your Read-Aloud.

Steve it is turned on and I even turned it off then turned it back on and rebooted. Still nothing.
