I just updated the software for Logos 4 for mac and it is now bogging down so much that i forced quite the program 8 times and restarted with only the same results.

Yes, it si quite resource intensive. We had the same problem early in the Beta testing for windows. As time went on, this process was optimized a lot, so I imagine it will make progress on the Mac side as well.
It is a pain now, but worth it in the long run brother.
