I have just played with this function a little and it works fine, click and drag- but the buttons all look a like, it would be nice to choose a buttons appearance , or have a menu of pre-designed buttons to use- just a suggestion.
This has been voiced before. Some want text along with the shortcut. I like the selectable Icon idea. If you are creating a shortcut to a resource outside of Logos (e.g. excel) you can use Windows to change the icon of a shortcut that you can then add tot he the shortcut menu.
An oft repeated request that has so far been met with "no".
Keep squeeking Whyndell.
Agree. Would be nice to have something differentiating the icons. An option for icons with editable text would be better than no option at all.
Agreed!
That was one of my fav things (many) about V3... Sure seems like V4 is far less customizable than V3. I do hope that will change.
I agree Whyndell! Many books have similar covers and are hard to distinguish because they are so small (for example BHS/WHM 4.2 and NA27) and books without a cover image (syntax resources) have the same button.
I miss the script that I was running in LDLS 3 that let me have custom pull down style menus with book links. I had one for English Bibles and one for my Hebrew and Greek resources
I would like to offer my interest....
This would be a great idea. ALSO, I would love the ability to assign a "Hot Key" the shortcuts. Being someone who tries to infrequently use his mouse, a hot-key combination like they had in v.3 would be a great addition.
Thanks!
John
"Hot Key"
Hotkey yes!
Yes!! hot keys!!
And may I vote that NOT JUST BOOKS with the customizable icons...but passage guides and filters and all of the other things you could drag there...
We're going to improve the shortcuts bar and add support first for showing a label and eventually for custom icons.
Thanks Bob
Thanks! Any chance for Hot-Key Associations?
Thats good news Bob, thanks.
My icons don't look the same - they are the default icon of the particular application ... but note that I said application; all my icons are for features not present in Logos or features that I prefer another style than Logos offers. ... And, no, I don't think that Logos should try to cover everything that I use ... I just want to cut and paste into Logos so that I can use Logos somewhat like a knowledge base. In fact, I would love it if Logos explicitly added a knowledge base feature to link external resources.
Now it's good that Logos 4 installs from the web, because all users can benefit from the changes required by the community.logos.com visitors :-)
