Reading View Issues

Has anyone else had difficulty in reading books in the "reading view" mode? (F11). When I choose this option my screen goes bonkers and I end up with a banner of some of the text across the top, a floating window of the text partially filled in the middle, and on the left a portion of the text in a window that looks similar to where I started.

I've restarted the computer, I've restarted the program. The result is consistent across the board with my resources. If I put it into "Reading View" it goes bonkers. Todays update did not help this issue. Help?

I am running Logos 4 on Windows XP.

Wow John, I am not having this issue. It almost sounds more like a video driver issue. It sounds like the screen needs a redraw but isn't getting it.

Can you tell me what your video card is and have you checked for an up to date driver?

Other wise, within the program I cannot suggest anything useful.

LOL - seriously, I'm laughing because I'm using a MacBook Pro. With the new Intel processors and the assistance of another program (Parallels) I'm able to run Windows.

I was able to just drag the window wider to broaden it to "reading mode" and that worked fine. It's only when I use F11 or click on "Reading Mode" that there seems to be a problem. That doesn't seem video to me - but I don't know.

Since I'm on a mac - that means I'm mostly unaware of the internal workings - my experience for the past 25 years has been they just work. So, here's the layout of the Mac - I hope this helps, and then I'll go into Windows and give you it's layout.

System Software: Mac OS X (10.6.1) Snow Leopard

Mac Hardware:

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

Processor speed: 2.53 GHz

Total Number Of Cores: 2

L2 Cache: 3 MB

Memory: 4 GB

Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz

Now for Windows Information:

System Software: Windows XP

It just lists some of the same hardware.

Does that help at all? I really appreciate your willingness to help.

Now I suspect it's more an issue of the virtual machine you're using (Parallels) and how it interprets or uses the video card driver coming from windows. In other words as I understand it:

Windows > Video card driver = Parallels>your display.

Whatever parallels is using or whatever windows is using to talk to parallels graphically could be the problem.

I can do many PC diagnostics in my sleep, but I've avoided apple like the plague; so I'm afraid I'm going to have to hand you off to someone competant in Parallels. I hate to just say "good luck" but...

The only reason I raised the concern is that it didn't do it in LOGOS 3.

I can expand it manually - and that's satisfactory for me - though not the way the program was designed. I do not have any other issues with graphics in any other area that I've discovered in LOGOS 4. ONly this one in the Reading View. Of course, I have only had it for a few days.
