L4 crashes on netbook when opening resources

Greetings,

I downloaded and installed L4 on my ACER Aspire One last night. Indexing took all night, but was ready for me when I woke up this morning.

I ran the passage guide on a text I wanted to study, but when I click on a commentary link the program shuts down.

I restarted and went right to the book I wanted through the library, click on the icon, and the program crashes.

Any thoughts? I know that several people have gotten L4 to run on netbooks. Logos 3 ran fine for me (searching was sometimes a little slow, but good trade off for the portability of a netbook).

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Here is the error line copied from the log file:

2009-11-07 10:27:23.0468 1 Error OurApp Unhandled exception: System.PlatformNotSupportedException: No voice installed on the system or none available with the current security setting.

I do not have MS voice installed (i removed it from my XP instalation). Is this an issue?

Without seeing the line in context, I'm not exactly sure what the problem is, but it sounds like it's related to a bug (in the .NET Framework) that we found yesterday. We are planning to add a workaround for the issue in SR-6. Until then, reinstalling MS Voice may help prevent the crash.

If you can post the entire log file, we should be able to tell whether SR-6 is likely to solve your problem, or whether we need to improve our fix to handle this case too.

Thanks for posting the log; this looks like it should be fixed by SR-6 next week (although you won't be able to use the "Read aloud" feature if no voices are installed).

I don't know of any workarounds to stop the crash in the current version.

Thanks for the QUICK update!! I reinstalled MS voice (text-to-speech engine) and still same issue.

I look forward to the fix next week!
