Incessant repetitive downloads

Not sure if this is a bug, but it sure as shooting is annoying.

Even though I've had v. 4 up and running since day one and everything seems to have been downloaded and I am told that "Synchronization is enabled, and all items are up to date," there appears to be an anomalous, incessant and repetitive download of precisely 61.5 megabytes that re-starts after every time I click on the little blue icon in the system tray.

Logos v. 4 restarts, everything appears normal... and then the whole cycle repeats. This has been going on since day one.

This is annoying, to say the least, and if I accidentally press the system tray icon to see what is happening, it re-boots v. 4 and I wait while things settle down and I can re-load my layout again.

Please tell me there's a fix for this!!

We've seen this happen to a few users, and it's typically caused by different resources each time. Please follow my instructions at http://community.logos.com/forums/p/3303/25171.aspx#25171 to collect some log files that should pinpoint your specific problem; we'll then help you resolve it.

It looks like you've run into a bug in the way hidden resources are processed; deleting the following two files should let the system correctly recognise your hidden resources and not attempt to download updates for them:

C:\Documents and Settings\The Daddy\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4\Data\fc2j5yyr.igw\DownloadManager\DownloadManager.db

C:\Documents and Settings\The Daddy\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4\Data\fc2j5yyr.igw\UpdateManager\Updates.db

I seem to have run into a repetitive download issue too.

From what I can gather from the logs, it is repeating downloads of the following e4 files, e4_dvdpk.lbxlls and e4_mycnv.lbxlls
Any additional insights would be helpful !!

Thanks for the excellent log files. You are right: the problem is caused by e4_dvdpk.lbxlls (specifically, an invalid version in your LDLS3 resource paths that Logos 4 is attempting to install automatically). To fix it, please download the following file and save it to L:\Libronix Resources\E4 books\, overwriting the existing file:

http://resources.assets.logos.com/lls_7.0.1204/2003-02-28T17_10_29Z/e4_dvdpk.lbxlls

(If e4_dvdpk.lbxlls exists in any other LDLS3 folders on your system, you'll want to overwrite/delete it there, too.)

Logos 4 may go through one more download cycle, but then the problem should be resolved.
