Endless Synchronization

Hi,
First, I just want to say how thankful I am for Logos. It is a top quality software. I think this may be the first technical problem I have experienced since upgrading to Logos 4.
I just installed logos on another computer and it remains in sync mode (the spinning arrows at the top right with "Synchronization in progress"). It looks like everything was downloaded. I used the "update now" command and it says no updates were found. Occasionally it will say there was a sync error. I am running 4.3 SR-6 (4.30.0.1613) on Windows XP. I didn't have this problem when I installed it on my other machines (on a different network). This is using a hardwired connection, not wifi.
Any help you can give would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

We need to see logos4.log - see http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging about enabling logging AND uploading logs.

Have you insured that there is only one instance of Logos4 running at a time?

Initially I did have one instance running at home and one at work, but the one at home is now shut down, and it is still doing the same thing. I attached my log files

You have an error with something called "TextBlockUtility.IsTextTrimmed" I have no idea what that is, or if it relates to your issue.
More likely is the next Warning that you're getting errors during synchronization, with the sync operation timing out. I'm not sure if the issue represents a problem on your end or Logos' end.
I'd suggest contacting Logos tech support.

I am having the same problem. Running Windows 7 Pro, SP1; 64x at home and 32x on my laptop. I just enable logging.

You also have problems with the sync manager timing out, as well as multiple sync manager conflicts. You could try closing all instances of Logos, except one and then type the remove duplicate notes command, but I have little confidence that this will fix the problem for you, given the syncmanager conflicts and timeouts you're getting. If it doesn't work...
You should contact tech support.

Thanks, I only have one copy running (according to task manager), I ran remove duplicate notes, but the endless sync still continues. So I emailed tech support.

By another copy, I mean running Logos on another computer with your login name/password.
But going to tech support seems the best way to go for now anyway.

I have it installed on my laptop, but the laptop is off and has been off since Monday afternoon.
Thanks, still waiting on Tech Support -- I sent them a copy of the logs.

Now, when you say the laptop is off. Do you mean 'shut down' or did you just sleep or hybernate it? That is did you exit Logos before turning it 'off'?
Minor point, really, because it looks like you probably have other sync issues. BTW, these sync issues are being addressed and should be fixed with the release of version 4.5 (which is in beta testing now).

Well, it stopped. But, I didn't do anything, haha!
Ken, what about you?

Mine in still syncing, both the laptop and home workstation. When I first upgraded to Logos 4, I had my home workstation and laptop both running (installing) Logos 4 at the same time.
Richard, I had the laptop OFF, not sleeping or hibernating. After installing Logos 4 on both systems (at the same time), I have NOT had Logos up and running on both systems at the same time since.
Ken
Looking forward to 4.5

Tech Support got back with me and had me delete the Logos4 folder. When I opened Logos 4 it rebuilt it after a couple of hours. Now Logos 4 works great.
Note: the Logos4 folder is located
\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local

Without re-installing? Without downloading resources?
