Bug: Copy selected text

In Logos 4 SR-5, if I highlight text I can normally copy it and paste it into another program. But if the panel is floating, for some reason this does not work. I opened NASB95 in a floating panel and went to Rom 1:21. I tried to select part of the verse and copy with Ctrl+C. Nothing happens when I paste into WordPerfect. But strangely, if I try to copy parts of 2 or 3 verses it works. It is only a problem with part of a single verse.

Further the font and formatting is different. if I copy and paste from the main Logos program window, it comes across in the same font size I am using in my word processor (10 point). It also does not bring any cross reference footnotes, because I have footnotes turned off. Although annoyingly, it still has the footnote number/letter for NASB cross references and notes (if there are no footnotes, there should be no footnote numbers). But if I copy and paste from the floating panel, the font is larger and the cross reference numbers are in superscripts, although there is no footnote. In the main Logos window, no Bible citation is pasted, but it is in the floating panel.

So there are several problems here: Unable to copy of phrase from floating panel; font size differences; cross reference numbers (even when copy footnotes is turned off); erratic inclusion of citation.

With further testing, I found that the erratic copy and paste behavior happens with WordPerfect, but not with Word. So there must be something different in the text copied to the clipboard, but Word is more tolerant of it than WordPerfect.

This is a very curious bug. Can you confirm that you are copying *exactly* the same text from the main window versus the floating window? We only attach a citation when the selection is a certain size, which could explain why a 2 or 3 verses would copy differently than one.

Yes. It simply would not copy a partial verse from the floating window. I tried it with a lot of different passages. Now today it is copying, but it still brings the footnote number/letter when I have footnotes off. In Word it pastes as a superscript, in WordPerfect as plain text. Either way, the footnote number should not come over if the copy footnotes setting is off.

Here is some more fun. Sunday the copying did not work when I was doing some writing. I took the same floating window with NASB and added a tab for NA27, because I was teaching a Greek class and then a New Testament class the same day and I wanted both. I tried to copy today and I can copy from that floating window. Still the problem with copying the footnote number, but at least I could copy the text. But, then I took as NASB window in the main program and said open a copy in another tab. I then made the tab a floating window. Now I cannot copy and paste from that new window reliably. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. It tends not to work on small pieces, like a word or short phrase. Even when it works, it is pasted differently into WordPerfect than Word.
