Request: Quick navigation to a verse in a particular version, by typing, e.g., "Rom 6:1 (ESV)"

It would be great if you could navigate immediately to a particular verse in a particular version that wasn't your default version, by typing the verse reference followed in parentheses by the version abbreviation.

I tried it just now, on the hunch that maybe you guys might have thought of that for Logos 4, but no such luck. An attempt to navigate to Rom 6:1 (ESV) directly brought up the Search window with a search of my entire library for that text. And the stuff that was found was completely irrelevant!

I too want to know how this is done. In Logos 3, we were able to do JUST a Bible search. I cannot find a setting anywhere that de-links a search from searching my entire library. There must be a way, but i have not found it yet.

I agree that would be useful. I tried it myself once.

Open the search window by clicking the magnifying glass. Click on bible in the right corner of the search
window:

(that's funny...I didn't know until now that the KJV spelled Melchizedek differently in the NT than in the OT)

In the Logos 4 command box, you can type something like "open esv to ro 6.1" to accomplish this. Further commands and command examples are in help file under "Command Box".

Thanks, Rick! In fact, the command "open" is superfluous and you can just type "esv to ro 6:1" - not quite intuitive, but better than nothing. I can get used to it. I still would suggest adding the "ro 6:1 (esv)" syntax for future release to catch all those people who just want to use this product intuitively. L4 was supposed to be a big step in that direction, but there is still room for improvement.

I would also suggest Ro 6:1 puts options for your top 5 bibles in the drop down menu under "Lookup", then you simply select the one you want.

In the Command window (box to the right of Tools Menu), type in Open ESV to Rom 6:1 and press Enter.
