Showing only a single passage in a bible

In my NA 27 (or SBLGNT or any bible really) when I type in at the top John 1:35-40, Jn 1:35 is brought up, with the continuous text.

I'm wondering if there is a way for the panel to show ONLY that passage that I typed in (John 1:35-40). I recognize I can use a different panel, but I want to have the morph data and right-click panel available.

Is there any way to do this?

Staying strickly in the resource window/panel, no. As you mention, other panels do all it, but you loose your morph'ing ability.

Continuous text versus a verse grouping is one of the earliest design decisions (in the design process) in text software. In my own Bible software, I use a verse / sentence grouping as the unit of display, which allows more dispay choices. But my own software is analytical for the greek/hebrew, thus the approach.

Logos has many ways to view a particular pericope, however, the biblical texts are always in complete context. I can provide you more information on the way I study a pericope using the Logos Exegetical Guide andText Comparison Tool that will limit the text to the specific pericope, but that it may not provide what you are looking for. In the event you find something useful in my approach in resolving your question I have attached a screenshot for your review.

Hi Danny, Until John gets back to you, I would guess that MEG stands for My Exegetical Guide (a customized guide). The compare tag is a set of Greek books he has tagged and assembled into a collection for use in the Text Comparison tool.

The MEG is My Exegetical Guide. I took the EG and tweaked it so the word by word section does not automatically populate. To create your own guide you may want to check out the wiki http://wiki.logos.com/Guides__#Exegetical_Guideor ask and I can provide more detail. The one change I make is that only words I click on populate with parsing information etc.. To do this go to the word by word section/ settings and select show all words and include only these parts of speech and then do not select any part of speech. The guide should be saved as "My Exegetical Guide" if you want it to be your new default. The MEG is then linked to the biblical texts, the PG etc.

My compare tag includes, BYZ (Majority text), Newberry Interlinear (TR), SBL and the Texts of Earliest GNT Manuscripts by Comfort. I then open a text comparison tool and type in NA27, mytag:GreekCompare to get the comparison.

I use the MEG to get the information on the various words by clicking on them. This allows for those words I do not need the parsing etc. on to remain. It also allows for the English to show when I hover over a Greek word.

Sentence diagram can have primary (manuscript) and alternate (morphology) lines. Syntax graphs can show morphology plus right click option:

Concur syntax graphs are continuous text, however trying to fit some sentences on screen is vertically challenging (e.g. Ephesians 1:3-14).

In an interlinear resource, could display morphology inline with text, highlight desired verse(s), and add to a clipping. Unfortunately, while clipping can display morphological codes, right click options are lacking (in comparison with original reverse interlinear resource).
