Bible Search Not Searching My Bibles Properly
The Bible Search on Logos 4 Mac is not searching properly. When I change my search options to:
- "Top Bibles" - only shows 2 of my 5 top bibles in the results.
- "ALL Bibles" - only lists 8 of the bibles (Scholar's edition has more than that)
- "Collections: Favorite Bibles" - only lists 2 of my 8 bibles in my collection
Am I doing something wrong? Please help!! There are other features/filters that don't seem to be working as they should.

Mike - Can you give a screen shot? [Command-shift-3 = full screen; Command-shift-4 = make a selection]

If you are looking for a particular word or phrase, is it possible that it's a translation issue and what you are looking for is found only in 8 of your Bibles and only 2 of the 8 are found in your top Bibles and Favorites? Just a thought . . .

No. I'm searching for "Bethlehem" (as an example) and it should be in every Bible.

Mike - Is your library still showing those resources? Have you recently installed L4? Has it fully indexed?

Good question. I just noticed that my parental control was blocking Logos from accessing the web from my L4 Home Page. I shut it down and rebooted the computer. Now it is indexing (@43%). I'll let you know if this resolves my searching troubles.

Concur with "should be in every Bible."; using Logos 4.3 SR-6, able to find results in many Bibles:
Wondering how many resources match type:Bible in your Library ? Screen shot excludes Dead Sea Scrolls, Targums, and Manuscripts to show 77 Bibles in my Logos 4 library (Scholar's Platinum plus more) along with Bible prioritization. Likewise curious about your Library prioritization ?

Also curious about diagnostic log contents, which could answer indexing question. Wiki Mac Troubleshooting => How to Report Bugs in Logos 4 Mac includes link to 5504.Logos4MacLogging.app.zip (display logging setting, then optionally change); also links to Logos Log Scribe (create zip file of Logging folder with copy of console messages)

I think you need to have a serious word with your Dad. I know the Bible contains a lot of stuff totally unsuitable for children - but if you are doing searches on Logos I think you should be allowed to see the 'whole counsel'. Just read it with care.

I don't know how I managed to get that first screenshot uploaded, but every time I try now it freezes my computer (only on this web site though). Anybody else have trouble uploading media? I kept the file size down and the width @ 550.
Anyway, to give an update without a screenshot... L4 is not listing every bible in my collection during a bible search, but it is indexed now and shows 35 of them. I found that it searched my KJV 1900, but not my KJV or KJV with Apoc. The KJV Authorized Version also shows up. I just swapped out my Top Bibles to not include the KJV and put the Auth. Version in (basically the same thing).

I liked that! [Y] I am the dad and the parental control is my own personal accountability partner on the computer. Too much junk on the web and you can never be too careful. I've growth to hate the web. [:@]

Curious which browser you are using ? Personally have had to reset Safari (or clear cached files) to "fix" interaction with Logos forums (from time to time).

Wonder if a Bible search for: Bethlehem OR Beth-lehem includes another Bible in results ?
Also wonder about searching "All Bibles" vis "Top Bibles" ?
Living and learning: appears Bethlehem does not match Beth-lehem in King James Version.
Likewise learned a Bible Search for David includes results in KJV Apocrypha:

I did a word search that searched 41 bible resources including all my KJV's and the apoc. I think everything is working now. Thanks for all the help.
