BUG: Slide transition Problem

There is a slide transition problem within each song. Going from one slide to another (by any method) the screen goes blank for a noticable ammount of time before displaying the next slide. This is a really distracting problem. Tried different transitions and no transitions but it doesn't change. Transitions work after the blanking.

Found out that if I open the edit view while "on air" the slides transition fine.

I have been unable to reproduce that issue.

What are the specs of the computer you are projecting from? Did you have a lot of other programs running?

It is important to note that if you transition through slides rapidly (more than 1 a second or so) the transitions are skipped for performance/ease of use reasons.

It's happening on our desktop and laptop

Desktop:

Pentium 4, 3.2Ghz

3.2 GB RAM

Laptop:

Intel Core 2,1.83 GHz

2GB Ram

Both are running Windows XP

The only program we had running that wasn't designed to run in the background was screen monkey. We might have been running Firefox as well. I can't remember and I can't get to the desktop until next Sunday. We run programs like Dropbox, Teamviewer, AVG antivirus and Spybot S&D but I can't imagine them taking up that much resources.

I just ran a test on the laptop with only Firefox running (1 tab) and was able to produce the same effect while monitoring the task manager and there was no spike in resources and it wasn't even using half of the processing power.

I even gave the transition ample time to finish before going on to the next slide.

I just discovered that it's just the background that blanks, not the words.

On our desktop we were able to temporally resolve the issue by going into edit view during the presentation but it makes it harder to see the slide previews and I can't seem to reproduce this fix on the laptop tests right now.

Yes, that is quite odd. I was unable to reproduce that behavior on our machine that most closely matches your specs, running Windows XP.

Does this happen even for very short or simple presentations? Try creating a presentation with only 2 items and see if this persists.

Our church computer is doing the same thing.. My home computer is fine. Both are running windows 7 (64bit). It's very odd... i will have to try opening edit to see if that helps us.

One important note is that performance can be an issue with older machines. The general system requirements for Proclaim will be:

Really dont think it has much to do with system requirements. Our system at church is more than capable of running it. It really shouldn't require too much to run a transition. Also, as mentioned earlier. If we run it in edit mode the transitioning works fine. This tells me its something to do with software. Not hardware. For now we will continue to run it under 'edit'
