Logos Display at Start-Up

I have unchecked the default setting to display the Home page at start-up, but I still do not seem to get the last display before shutdown when I subsequently start the Logos software.

It always seems to give a display of something that appears to be saved from a prior session.

Can someone help me to ensure that Logos starts with the last display that it had before shutdown? Is there a place where this needs to be saved to ensure that subsequent start-ups will bring me to this display?

I can't answer that question since, when I turn off the automatic display of the home page, it does display the last setup from the previous session. Check to see that you really do have the home page turned off at startup.

Being Thanksgiving Day in the U.S. of A, you might have to be patient for help from your brothers and sisters of the forums. I'm sure help will come for you!

Not being a technical person, I can perhaps begin to help out.

First, it seems to me that what you are trying should work. You have clicked off the Logos Home Page so that your Home Page is not loaded when you start Logos 4. That's the way I have mine set up. I can always get to the Home Page easily and readily; and so I do at least once or twice a day.

That being said, I wonder why your opening layout isn't the same as when you closed Logos. It shoud be. We might have to ask you for more information re. your system.

And! That being said, I suggest that you might consider closing Logos4 and rebooting your computer. It's amazing how often such a simple task can afford an admirable solution.

Meanwhile, I'm sure that others will respond; so -- again -- please be patient until they have opportunity. I live in Canada; but I imagine a lot of the good people in the United States are now gathered with families -- eating turkey and pumpkin pie and cranberry sauce -- watching football! *smile* Whatever!

Please get back to us regarding where you are with your struggles in this area.

What is different - the tabs, the total number of tabs or the content of tabs, or a combination of both?

Welcome to the Logos forums. Don't be a stranger, and don't hesitate to ask—even if the question seems trivial.

The only time I have experienced this is following a crash that occurred soon after changing layouts (being a semi-rabid Beta user).

From that experience, have you changed layouts shortly before shutting down? Perhaps L4 requires a few moments to remember the last layout.

The tabs, the total number of tabs, and the content of the tabs are all different.

The display at start-up always seems to be the same -- it is a display of something that appears to be saved from a prior session that I had at one point. This is why I was wondering if there was some sort of "Save" operation that I had to execute so that I could get a different display at start-up. (I hate to lose everything that I had opened when I was doing some sort of in-depth research!)

Anyway, I realized that what Jack Caviness mentioned (thanks) about his experience after a crash might be relevant since the only time that I seem to re-start Logos is after a forced reboot when my computer has frozen.

I thought, "Possibly Logos needs to be shutdown gracefully."

Anyway, I just shut Logos down gracefully and re-started it, and, sure enough, the right session has appeared at start-up (i.e., the last one that I had before shutting it down).

So maybe that this the issue. :-)

(Although I never remember this being an issue when I was on XP. I recently loaded Windows 7 on this computer, and I have noticed this phenomenon since that time.)
