I currently have the Leader's Library base package. What's the most basic upgrade I have to make in order to get original language functionality? I've just spent 3 semesters in seminary on Hebrew and am about to start Greek, so I'm thinking about upgrading Logos with those tools.

To add to Lynden's excellent advice, you might want to look down the road a bit as to where you plan to 'end up'.

In the Logos package pricing process, you're better off 'jumping' as far as you think appropriate.

Small incremental upgrades will waste some of your precious money.

In addition to taking advantage of academic discounts too.

The most basic original languages upgrade is to the Original Languages Library http://www.logos.com/product/10416/original-languages-library. That's the package I first got after selecting a number of resources a la carte.

In addition to the welcome and the excellent advice you already got, one additional point that wasn't mentioned yet: AFAIK, the upgrade path for base packages looks like a reverse Y - Home and Leaders leading to Scholars and beyond, Original Languages (OL) leading to Scholars and beyond. Thus, there is no upgrade from Leaders to OL. By upgrading your package to Scholars you will receive nearly all the OL-ressources and this may be significantly cheaper than buying OL. At least, that's what I read all the time.

I don't know what http://www.logos.com/upgrade tells you, and whether it can figure out Academic Disounts as well - maybe it helps calling Sales.

NM may be correct, I won't get in a food fight over that, but I would suggest you call a sales rep and discuss the matter with him. Sometimes they can give better deals than you might otherwise receive, sometimes not. It doesn't hurt to try — unless you would need to pay the phone charges, which is not the case for any US customer, but I can't speak for those outside the US. Either choice would probably meet your goal.

I believe some non-US users have avoided phone charges by using Skype. but I don't know anything worthwhile about that app. Non-US users may want to check it out, however.

Skype is very worthwhile! [;)] I use it when traveling or staying in places without reasonable long distance service. Of course you need to have internet access, but if you are using Logos then you probably do. Skype has been around for a while and works very well for me.

From personal experience (started with Leader's Library then upgraded to Silver, now at Platinum), I can validate Denise's advice... actually you'll probably hear it from dozens of forum users who have likewise done a minimal upgrade only to upgrade again (and again) as time and circumstances permit. So, if you can, take advantage of your academic discount and monthly payments to get to Platinum (my personal recommendation).
